The nursery is decorated in a whimsical sea creatures motif. There

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Catecheses (cat eh key sis), based
on the teaching methods of Maria Montissori, is a multi-level curriculum
introducing prayer, liturgy, the seasons of the Christian year,
the altar, Holy Land geography, and the parables of Jesus.
The teacher's role is to help the child experience fully their encounter
with God.
Teaching methods are self-paced and individualized. We use hands-on
manipulatives and art.

THE ALL SAINTS’ DAY SCHOOL
Dee Dean, Director
A scholarship grant,
received through the All Saints’ Scholarship Fund, allowed
fourteen of the Day School’s staff to attend the VAECE (Virginia
Association of Early Childhood Education) Conference in February.
We attended a variety of workshops and brought back to school a
lot of excellent, relevant information for sharing, discussion,
and application. We are better teachers for having attended and
appreciate the Scholarship Fund Committee’s consideration
and generosity.
March was a busy month for the Day School. We celebrated Dr.
Seuss’s birthday, had a fun-filled “Pajama Day”
with everyone wearing pj’s to school, held our annual art
show, and a Scholastic Book Fair.

amount of weeding done during the growing season. Author
